Mumbai – Multi-Culinary Experience

I have been forced to talk about the multi-culinary experience in Mumbai..thanks to the dinner at All Stir Fry. Its heaven for non-vegetarians. I would require a veg patron of this to validate the same for vegetarians.

The food is awesome. So is the service. The “wok” is the most interesting option there. Keep reading as I reveal my experience at this “canteen” like restaurant. Why the use of the word canteen. Have a little patience my friend.

I wanted to have all kinds of meat at one point of time. To fulfill my appetite my friend @greyindecision suggested this place.

We reached there at 9pm sharp. Our parking was taken care of by the valet guys ( Please note getting a parking in that Area is a bitch). Ooops forgot to mention where its located. Its in Colaba, in the Cafe Mondegar lane, near Regal Cinema Hall.

I entered the restaurant and was actually in awe to see everyone seating in a canteen fashion. Long tables, long benches, everyone discussing loudly and then I saw a live kitchen… That really caught my attention. A different experience after a long time. Its true life is all about unique and interesting experience.

We were given a “table for two” and were seated on one of the “long tables and benches.” Waiters vowed to give the best service approached us and we ordered for the “Wok” and chilled Kingfisher beer. It was super chilled, I haven’t had a beer as chilled as this one since a long time.

And then finally we decided to go for the “wok”. So, the wok is ” you are supposed to pick you own ingredients and your sauce you wanna have for your dinner and they make it for you in front of you at the Live Counter. Amazing experience !

I selected chicken, beef, salami, pork sausages, prawns, egg strips, squid, cauliflower, onions and sauces – Korean pepper and Oyster chili. I handed over my to-be dinner to the food-craftman who was going to decide the fate of the food I had selected.

And he did it well. The food was really awesome. The squid and the meat, especially the beef were so juicy and savory. I can’t forget the feeling, 2 of my sensory organs were enjoying. Damn to the half filled stomach ( due to beer at Ruby Tuesday and Popcorn & samosa at INOX). You can also have a second serving. Next time I go there I will make sure I don’t have lunch so that I can re-live this experience with a little more appetite.

When we asked for the cheque they gave us fortune cookie which read- ” Your Kindness to others will not be forgotten 🙂 ” Hell yeah! You are bound to be super kind post a satisfying culinary experience.

Bon appetite!
